Our Background
Kinfarm mums CBO is a community based organization in Msambweni Sub County, Kwale County, in coast region. It was started in September 2021 and registered with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development (Department of Gender and Social Services) in the year 2022. The organization began with 14 single mothers but has grown overtime to the current membership of 30 of which 27 are female while 3 are male. The scope of operation is Msambweni sub-county in Kwale County. The objective of its formation was to benefit small scale single mothers from economies of scale through joint acquisition of farm inputs, mass production and collective marketing of farm produce. The target groups are mainly small scale farmers The affiliate groups of the CBO is made up of farmers common interest groups (CIGs) comprising of women groups, youth groups, self-help groups, persons living with disability and support groups such as People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHIV/AIDS)





Our Organizational Development

Management and Service Provision
The organization is purely managed by farmers themselves who democratically elect their leaders in management committee, sub-committees and block/unit levels. During its formation, the organization most activities were done on volunteering basis by farmers themselves but has grown to the level of employing2 staffs both technical and subordinate staff. It also engages over 5 Community Facilitators who have been capacity build on various areas of project activities i.e. Agroforestry & Climate change, financial services through VSLA methodology, Gender & Special interests, Farm Enterprise Development & M-SALM

The Operation Years
The organization has been working with shine yetu children school, development cooperation organization, fighting poverty and improving environment through chickens eggs and vegetable project. The partnership began way back in 2022 to date and members of Kifarm CBO have benefited in terms of financial support, education or capacity development, advisory services the organization has implemented the following projects
